Dolly Parton excluded from 'Hannah Montana' movie

Country superstar says her TV character was not included in script

Despite her recurring role as Aunt Dolly on TV show 'Hannah Montana', Dolly Parton has revealed she will not be a part of the Disney movie version which is due out in April.

The star said that she was originally asked by producers to be in the film, but that her part was ultimately excluded from the production.

"I'm not in the movie," she said in an interview. "I wish I had been. I said I would love to! I assumed that they were gonna be writing me a part."

According to the Associated Press , the TV show has introduced the 63-year-old to a whole new audience, and has even inspired her to blog on her website: "I feel like I came from the dark ages into the light ages. When I first started out, we didn't even have electricity. I was singing on TV before we even owned one. Now here I am in this high tech world. I don't even know half of what the stuff means. But I'm on it."
