Donnas to release 'Greatest Hits' album

California quartet set to tour with Blondie and Pat Benetar

The Donnas are to release 'Greatest Hits Vol 16' - a compilation to celebrate their 16 years as a band.

However, the album won't be a traditional hits compilation. It will feature two new songs as well as re-recorded versions of earlier songs including 'Get Rid Of That Girl' from their debut album, 1997's 'The Donnas', and 'Get You Alone' from 1999's 'Get Skintight'.

The album will also feature previously unreleased songs 'We Own The Night' and 'She's Out Of Control', as well as live tracks.

'Greatest Hits Vol 16' will be released July 7 on the band's own label, Purple Feather Records.

On July 21 The Donnas begin the 19 date 'Call Me Invincible' tour with Blondie and Pat Benetar in the USA.

I'm sorry, but who has gotten this many chances to "make it" yet consistently failed to do so, and kept being given promotion, releases, etc? Somebody's getting paid off or blow jobs or something. Not 'cos they're female, either, just suspicious about this. Any other act would've been long gone with a track record like theirs.

They are on theyre OWN label. Which means that they actually work to release theyre albums.thats pretty impressive.Hmmm it seems to me that you guys are the ones who suck dick.assholes.

To respond to the previous, confused commenters:A cursory reading of the article would tip you off you that this is a self-released album, so the Donnas aren't being given anything. A cursory reading of the album title would tip you off that the term "Greatest Hits" is not meant to be taken literally (that said, the Donnas have charted a couple times in the US and the UK). What's more, if you think you can garner enough fans to sustain a 16-year music career, you're welcome to try (and that's not just because you're guys).
