Doves complete eight tracks for new album
Band work with Massive Attack producer
Doves have completed eight tracks for their new album.
The band have been working on the follow-up to 2005’s ’Some Cities’ with Massive Attack producer Dan Austin.
Writing on their blog, the band explained: “We’ve done eight tracks. We will be recording another eight tracks so we still have some way to go. Again thanks for all your words of encouragement, it means a lot to us.
“The studio is a little farmhouse barn in Cheshire, we did some mixing in RAK studios... John Leckie has since moved on due to previous commitments... Co-production-wise, we’ve hooked up with an amazing up and coming producer, Dan Austin [Cherry Ghost, Massive Attack]."
They added the collaboration was going well, saying: “We immediately clicked. As a result, the recording is very intuitive, so the mood is really positive and upbeat... We will all be writing new tunes in the spare time, it's a good break to write fresh material... errr, sorry no album release this year cause it’s got to be right... we do appreciate you being patient.”
