Papa Roach pay tribute to Iron Maiden at Download 2007

Papa Roach paid tribute to Iron Maiden as the third day (June 10) of Download 2007 kicked off.

The nu-metal outfit greeted early revellers for an afternoon set on the Main Stage as the band played a set including the likes of hit single 'Broken Home' at Donington Park.

"Are you guys fucking ready for Iron Maiden today?" frontman Jacoby Shaddix asked the crowd. "Those guys fucking rock man."

They were followed by Atlanta four-piece Mastodon who unleashed their sludge metal on the crowd as they powered through a 40 minute set.

Later, metalcore four-piece Killswitch Engage put in a pounding performance that included the track 'My Curse' which singer Howard Jones dedicated to "the girls" in the crowd.

Kicking off the morning's proceedings were Camberley outfit Reuben who played a set featuring single 'Blame Thrower','Blood, Bunny, Larkhall and 'Cities On Fire'.

Bassist Jon Pearce told the crowd: "For anyone in a rock band this is the festival to play. It is incredible. It has evolved from Monsters Of Rock into something bigger and better."
