Drake and Kendrick Lamar were the big winners at yesterday's BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards.

Drake won two prizes for 'Started From The Bottom': Video of the Year and the Coca Cola Viewers' Choice Award. However, he didn't pick up his trophies in person after pulling out of the awards ceremony in downtown LA just hours before it was due to take place.

Meanwhile, Lamar won in both the New Artist and Male Hip-Hop Artist categories. Both Drake and Lamar also feature on the winner of the Collaboration award, A$AP Rocky's 'Problems'.

Other winners at the 13th annual BET Awards included Rihanna, who was named female R&B/pop artist of the year, and Miguel, who won in the equivalent male category. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj all took home trophies too.

Former Gap Band singer Charlie Wilson received the Lifetime Achievement Award and was joined for a medley of Gap Band hits by Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams and Snoop Dogg. Presenting Wilson with his award, Timberlake said: "Charlie Wilson is soul music. His impact colours the work of many artists, which is basically my nice way of saying I and a lot of other artists have stolen from him." Scroll down to watch the all-star medley.

Other performers on the night included Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Lamar. Janelle Monae and Erykah Badu rounded off the ceremony with a rendition of their recent collaboration 'QUEEN'.
