Drake cancelled a planned gig in Philadelphia last night (October 19) an hour after it was due to start.

Gig-goers had already been admitted to the 20,000-capacity Wells Fargo Center, Philly.com reports, when they were informed that Drake would not be performing that night.

A statement from the venue explained: "Due to the elaborate nature of tonight's show and an unexpected technical issue, Drake's 'Would You Like A Tour?' concert at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia has been postponed until Wednesday, December 18." All tickets for last night's cancelled show will be honoured at the new date in December, the statement confirmed.

The Philadelphia gig was to be the second stop on Drake's 39-date 'Would You Like A Tour?' tour of North America, which began in Pittsburgh on Friday (October 18). The tour is set to continue in Montreal tomorrow night (October 21).

Drake is being joined on the tour by Miguel, Canadian singer PartyNextDoor and rapper Future, who was reported to have lost his support slot after making negative comments about Drake's new album 'Nothing Was The Same', but was reinstated in time for the opening night in Pittsburgh.

'Nothing Was The Same' came out on September 24 and debuted at Number One on the US Billboard 200 albums chart and at Number Two on the UK's Official Albums Chart – Drake's highest position yet in the UK.
