Drake has finally graduated high school at the age of 25.

The US rapper failed to finish his education as a teenager after dropping out of the school in Toronto to pursue a TV career on DeGrassi: The Next Generation. However, this summer he hired a private tutor to help him pass his exams.

Posting on his Twitter page last night (October 17) to speak to his fans about having reached his target, Drake wrote: "97% on my final exam. 88% in the course. One of the greatest feelings in my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school!"

Thanking his tutor, Drake added: "Thank you to my teacher Kim Janzen for spending the last 5 months working tirelessly with me!!"

Drake caused some upset in the hip-hop world earlier this year after stating that he is the first person to be able to both rap and sing successfully. He said that while people had used melody on rap songs before him, he believes he is the first person to do it justice. "There were people who incorporated melody before me, but I would deem myself the first person to successfully rap and sing," he said.
