Duran Duran have been forced to postpone part of their European tour and pull out of V Festival.

According to the BBC, the singer damaged his voice while performing at the Cannes Film Festival. The injury has left him without the use of the top range of his vocal chords.

Speaking of the issue the lead singer, Simon Le Bon said, "This has been an extremely difficult decision to make as the injury I seem to have sustained is an internal one and so no-one can tell me exactly how long it's going to take to mend completely."

Le Bon went on to explain, “we feel we can't keep moving shows piecemeal as it's just not fair on the fans”

"I am doing everything I can to work through this and get back on track as soon as possible."

The European tour was due to begin in Dublin on July 14 and run through until September.

The injury has caused the band to pull out of both legs of the V Festival on 20 and 21 August as well as the iTunes festival set to take place on July 16.
