Poltergeist, a new band featuring Echo And The Bunnymen members Will Sergeant and Les Pattinson, have announced the release of their debut album.

Titled 'Your Mind Is A Box (Let Us Fill It With Wonder)', the album is available to order now on CD or double vinyl at Pledge Music. To celebrate the announcement, the band have unveiled a track from the album called 'Cathedral' – scroll down and click 'play' to hear it.

Alongside Sergeant on guitar and Pattinson on bass, the Poltergeist line-up is completed by drummer Nick Kilroe, who has recently played in Echo And The Bunnymen's touring band.

Describing the Poltergeist sound, Sergeant said: "We create a form of rock music with its toes paddling in the progressive ocean foam of the '60s and '70s and its head in the bone dry air of the present day. We want to try and get away from the traditional band format of the line across the stage. There are 12 notes in a scale and we intend to use most of them."

Poltergeist will support the album with a trio of intimate gigs this March. The band play Glasgow's Oran Mor on March 13, followed by London's Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen on March 14 and The Kazimier in Liverpool on March 16. Tickets are available now.
