Ed Sheeran and Jessie J are set to record a duet together, according to reports.

The pair, who were both named amongst the nominees for the Brit Awards earlier this week, are hoping to enter the studio together to work on a "genuine collaboration", says the Daily Star Sunday.

Sheeran, who has been nominated for Best British Single, Best British Album, Best British Breakthrough Act and Best British Male, said:

Jessie and I are talking about a duet. I don't want either of us simply to feature on the other person's song. I want it to be a genuine collaboration where we both sing equal amounts.

According to the Sunday Mirror, meanwhile, J - who has been nominated for Best British Single, Best British Female Solo Artist and Best British Breakthrough Act – is eager to write material for X Factor winners Little Mix.

Speaking about the possibility of penning tunes for the girl band, she said: "I'd love to write for them as they're great girls and have brilliant voices."

It was revealed earlier this week that Ed Sheeran has recorded a duet with rapper Example. Jessie J's 'Price Tag' duet with BoB, meanwhile, was the biggest-selling collaboration of 2011.
