EDWYN COLLINS TAKES FIRST STEPS TO RECOVERY

EDWYN COLLINS has taken his first steps as he recovers from two brain haemorrhages.

The former Orange Juice singer has delighted nurses at a specialist rehabilitation unit with his recovery.

His wife and manager Grace Maxwell posted a message on his official website edwyncollins.com which said: "Edwyn is doing really well.

"He is advancing in all areas. He took his first steps in recent times. Wonderful stuff. And he's a bit cheerier because he gets home for good in three weeks."

Collins, 45, was moved to the undisclosed unit after being discharged from London's Royal Free Hospital, where he has been since falling ill in February.

Collins had emergency surgery following two cerebral haemorrhages and another operation in May after catching the MRSA superbug while in hospital.
