Orange Juice reform

Band set to appear at Scottish awards ceremony on November 22

Edwyn Collins' legendary 1980s band Orange Juice are reported to have reformed.

The band are understood to have reunited for the 2008 Tartan Clef Music Awards, according to Music Week.

Claiming to celebrate the best in Scottish music, the awards take place in Glasgow on November 22.

It's not yet confirmed whether the band will actually perform at the event, or merely receive the award together.

The band, who had hits such as 'Rip It Up' and 'L.O.V.E.', disbanded in 1985. Their song 'Blue Boy' was featured on C81, the renowned cassette given away to NME readers in 1981 to promote new bands.

Since they split, Edwyn Collins has gone on to have considerable success both as a solo artist and as a producer, having worked with the likes of The Cribs and Little Barrie. In 2005, he suffered two brain haemorrhages, but has now made a recovery and last year returned to performing.

Fantastic. If they're as good asthe reformed Fire Engines or Vaselines then that would be great. It would be interesting to know which members are back on board, as the lineup featured various differnt members during their time together. It would also be great of the four Orange Juice albums 'You Can't Hide Your Love Forever' 'Rip It Up' 'Texas Fever' and 'Orange Juice (3rd album)' were reissued. They are national treasures and it took me years to track them down on vinyl!
