Edwyn Collins was joined onstage by Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos as he launched new album 'Losing Sleep' at London's 100 Club last night (August 11).

Kapranos appears on the album track 'Do It Again', singing and playing guitar, and reprised that role at the show, before staying onstage to add additional guitar to a version of Collins' 1995 hit single 'A Girl Like You', which closed the main set.

The Magic Numbers' Romeo Stodart also joined Collins, as he does on the album, for 'It Dawns On Me'.

Collins, whose band included Sex Pistols star Paul Cook on drums, opened his set with the title track of the album, which is out on September 13. Other new songs aired were 'Searching For The Truth' and 'What Is My Role?', which was co-written with The Cribs' Ryan Jarman, although he was not present.

The indie legend played tracks which spanned his whole career, including his old band's Orange Juice's 1980 debut single 'Falling And Laughing' and 1983 UK Top Ten hit 'Rip It Up'.

Edwyn Collins played:

'Losing Sleep'
'What Presence?'
'Make Me Feel Again'
'Dying Day'
'Consolation Prize'
'What Is My Role?'
'Hope And Despair'
'Wheels Of Love'
'It Dawns On Me'
'Home Again'
'Rip It Up'
'Falling And Laughing'
'Don't Shilly Shally'
'Do It Again'
'A Girl Like You'
'Searching For The Truth'
'Low Expectations'
'Blue Boy'
