E plots weird advert for US showcase

Eels are aiming to crash this year’s Super Bowl with the shortest advert ever.

The band hope to bag some air during the highlight of the American Football season to plug their new rariities compilation 'Useless Trinkets'.

However with adverts during the broadcast of the match costing around $100,000 per second, the band have told NME.COM they do not expect to clog the airwaves.

At the moment, they are hoping they can afford a single second, which will feature frontman E saying the letter “U”, the first letter of the new album title.

A full version of the ad - with all the letters - will appear online after the game.
