MERZ GRATEFUL FOR DONNA-TION!

Donna Matthews plays on the solo star's first material in three years...

MERZ has recruited former Elastica guitarist DONNA MATTHEWS for his first new material since 1999.

Matthews plays guitar on 'Nightingale Vs The Crow', which is released on July 15 via Lotus records. Since her departure from Elastica in 1996, she has kept a very low profile, despite rumours of a solo album and a record deal with Alan McGee's Poptones label.

The track is the first of three limited edition 7" singles, to precede his second album proper, due for release later in the year.

In his time away, Merz has collaborated on tracks with Orbital, [a][/a]’s Maxim and Tom 'The Jedi' Middleton.

He will play a live show with Bob Mould on July 11 at London Dingwalls.
