ELASTICA STATE THEIR INTENTIONS

ELASTICA have just announced a Stateside tour, their first in four years.

The mid-sized tour in support of their second album 'The Menace', which was released in the US earlier this month, kicks off in San Francisco on September 20th before hitting Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington, and New York City before wrapping up in Boston on Oct 7th.

The tour follows rave reviews of the LP and will be the London outfit's fourth US jaunt.

Meanwhile, frontwoman Justine Frischmann is taking time to rest her voice after pulling out of the Leeds branch of the Carling Weekend on Sunday (28 August) by debuting behind the decks with keyboardist Mew at London club Uncle Bob's Wedding Reception this Saturday at the Water Rats Theatre in King's Cross, north London .

Although the duo are amateurs at turntablism, they've already got a second booking to spin at a party for US magazine Jane.

Speaking backstage at Reading, Justine told nme.com: "We don't even know if we can DJ yet, but we've said yes and we're going to take along someone who can. It's going to be a great laugh!"
