ELBOWand BADLY DRAWN BOY have raised over £100,000 at a Tsunami benefit gig.
The Manchester musicians were joined by fellow natives [a][/a], Durutti Column and Goldblade at the Manchester Apollo gig on January 30.
"It's something typical of Manchester; they're always willing to help if they can," Elbow’s Guy Garvey told Radio 1. "It's not as if poverty doesn't exist in Manchester either, but people are always ready to give their time and their money to do things like this."
The event was part of Manchester Million, which is organising more fund-raising events across the city over the next few weeks.
