Elbow to play London Wembley Arena

Nationwide Mercury prize winners for first arena headline show

Elbow will headline an arena show for the first time by playing London's Wembley Arena on March 14 next year.

The announcement comes in the same month that Guy Garvey and co won the Nationwide Mercury Prize for their 2008 album 'The Seldom Seen Kid'.

Also, Elbow have announced that they will record a children's album soon, alongside a conventional new album.

Tickets for the Wembley Arena show go on sale tomorrow (September 30).

Good on 'em. It seems that this time round, a long-established band have won the Mercury, with people mostly being supportive about it, leading to an increase in sales, and the band going to the next level. GOOD!

Totally agree with ya Ed. I'm not a massive Elbow fan but it's great that they're not just another flash in the pan.

Good old Elbow. I presonally think with the next album they would have made that next step to arenas anyway.
