Mercury winners begin three-night stand
Elbow began their three-night residency in London last night (October 11).
The Manchester band received a heroes' welcome on their first UK tour since winning the Mercury Prize for their album 'The Seldom Seen Kid'.
They will play two more shows at Camden Roundhouse tonight and tomorrow.
Frontman Guy Garvey bantered with the audience - which included his mother - throughout the show, taking questions from the floor.
Unsurprisingly, the set was heavy in material from the new album, apparently climaxing with the anthemic 'One Day Like This', at the end of which a torrent of balloons, streamers and glitter were fired into the crowd.
However, they then returned for an encore, finishing up with early track 'Scattered Black And Whites'.
