Elliott Smith's car to be sold for charity
You can own the late singer's automobile
Elliott Smith's car is being sold off to benefit a non-profit organisation that aids musicians in need.
The late singer's 1999 Volkswagen Passat is being sold by his brother via Craig's List in the Austin area for $4,000, reports Pitchfork.
The ad for the car reads: "It was my brother’s, who was a musician himself. He’s no longer with us, and I think he’d be happy to know that the sale of his car will help other musicians in need. It looks and runs great, and is fun to drive, but it does have a few flaws," which he goes on to describe.
Smith's brother pledged to donate the entire cost of the car to the SIMS Foundation, which provides local Austin musicians with mental health and addiction recovery services.
