Elton John has denied claims he demanded gig organisers book him a separate hotel room in which to store his collection of glasses.

Elton is set to play in Belo Horizonte in Brazil this weekend and, according to The Daily Telegraph, he had asked for another suite in the five-star Ouro Minas hotel which is kept at a special temperature so he can keep his spectacles in good condition.

"Elton John asked for an extra room in the hotel for some of his collection of glasses because he needs a temperature of 16C to preserve the accessories," said a spokesperson, who also claimed that the singer's other request had included vases of red and white roses, four bottles of cranberry juice, a pint of fresh skimmed milk and two bottles of Pinot Grigio wine.

According to the Daily Mail, however, a spokesperson for Elton has denied that the claims are true.

Elton John will release his new album 'The Diving Board' in September this year (2013). The 13-track record comprises of songs written in two sessions with long-time collaborative lyricist Bernie Taupin and is considered by John to be the "the most piano-oriented album of my career". He is also set to headline this year's Bestival alongside Snoop Dogg.
