Elton John, Ray Davies and Elvis Costello confirmed for Hyde Park shows

The trio will headline the last Friday of the Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time festival

Elton John will headline the final night of the Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time festival at London's Hyde Park.

The last day of the event will celebrate the best of British songwritimg and will feature Elton John, The Kinks' Ray Davies and Elvis Costello on Friday July 12. Lucy Rose, Justin Currie, Tift Merrit, To Kill A King and Thea Gilmore will also play across the site's three stages throughout the day.

Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park takes place across two weekends in the capital and will see performances from The Rolling Stones (July 6 and 13), Bon Jovi (July 5) and a host of other bands including Kaiser Chiefs, The Vaccines, Palma Violets, Bush, and Tribes.

Speaking about the gigs, which will be the first time The Rolling Stones have performed in Hyde Park since 1969, Mick Jagger said previously: "It's great to be playing the centre of London in July. it should be a beautiful evening." Moving on to talk about the last time the band played Hyde Park, when he performed wearing a white dress, Jagger continued: "It was a free concert, Brian Jones had recently died. There were a lot of nerves, it was a crazy thing to do. In the end it was a landmark concert. I tend to choose my dresses at the last minute. I can still get into it, I'm not worried about that bit."
