SIR ELTON LEADS WEMBLEY SEND-OFF Elton John Tickets
Hmm...And you thought Toploader were going to be the last British act to play there...
SIR ELTON JOHN hosted the last blast at the legendary sports stadium and rock venue LONDON WEMBLEY STADIUM last
night (November 2), at a glittering, star-studded farewell bash.
The star was joined on stage by Chris De Burgh, Jools
Holland and soprano Lesley Garrett, and among the
guests were Sir Bob Geldof, who masterminded the
Live Aid extravaganza in the 75-year-old stadium, plus
sporting legends including the 1966 England World Cup squad,
and Brazilian football hero Pele, who was given the honour of being the last person to kick a football beneath the famous "twin towers",
despite never having had the chance to play there.
