'Rocket Man' thrills the crowds...

JOHN[/url] joined RYAN
ADAMS[/url] on stage for a surprise duet of 'ROCKET MAN' during
the singer's current US tour, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.
Adams[/url], who is currently on tour to promote his second solo album
'Gold', performed a show at the New York Irving
Plaza earlier this week (October 3).
Rumours of a duet have been
circulating for a number of weeks, with both
Adams[/url] and John[/url]
namechecking each other in recent interviews. Speaking to NME,
Adams[/url] described the star as "a sweetheart".
He said: "He just called me
when I was in London in November... he just said, 'I really dig your record and
I'd like to meet you in person.' And we met up. He's such a sweetheart, I fucking
love him."
However, according to fans at the New York show,
the duet became a reality at the performance, with John[/url]
singing 'La Cienega Just Smiled' from 'Gold',
before a version of John[/url]'s
classic 'Rocket Man'.
Writing on the official Ryan
Adams[/url] messageboard, www.ryan-adams.com[/url], one fan described the
moment that John[/url]
came on stage.
He commented: "Elton[/url]
was introduced and warmly received by this NY crowd. He sat down
at the black baby grand piano and played a Ryan song. Then Ryan donned a large pair of orange sunglasses with glitter around the
frames and they performed a rocking version of 'Rocket Man'. Ryan[/url] kept smiling everytime the lyric mentioned getting "high as a kite
by then".
"Having Elton[/url]
there was fantastic, but in no way overshadowed Ryan. It was an enhancement to the night. Ryan is a major talent... it was a most fantastic show. Ryan was incredible. The audience was appreciative. It felt special".
A
UK spokesperson for Adams told NME.COM that she was aware of the possibility
of the duet in New York, but was unable to fully confirm that it had
taken place.
Adams returns to the UK and Ireland for live performances later this month.
