Elvis Costello releases back catalogue digitally

He'll also drop two new collections the same day

Elvis Costello has announced that he will release his first 11 original albums digitally for the very first time exclusively on US iTunes on May 1.

The albums will be available on other digital music outlets 30 days later.

The singer-songwriter will also release 'The Best Of Elvis Costello: The First 10 Years' and 'Rock And Roll Music' - a collections of hits, B-sides and rare, previously unreleased tracks - on the same day.

Both of the albums contain 22 tracks hand-picked by Costello himself, including classics such as 'Watching The Detectives' and '(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding', as well as rarities such as the demo version of 'Welcome To The Working Week'.

As previously announced, Costello will embark on a tour of the US with his band, The Imposters, on May 2 in Los Angeles.
