MOLTEN OLDIES

The event, celebrating 50 years of London's Royal Festival Hall, takes place in May...

ELVIS COSTELLO, NICK CAVE, LAURIE ANDERSON and DAVID THOMAS are to join forces to celebrate LONDON ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL's 50th anniversary with an event titled TOTAL MELTDOWN.

The four, all previous directors of the eclectic annual Meltdown music festival, are to perform live at the venue on May 4. The event will also feature Louis Andriessen, Magnus Lindberg and George Benjamin, who are also among the previous Meltdown directors. In addition there will be DJ sets from John Peel and former Mini-Meltdown curator Daniel Miller.

As previously reported on NME.COM, Talvin Singh curates this year's Mini-Meltdown on April 9, the line-up of which includes Howie B, while Robert Wyatt curates the 2001 Meltdown.
