A clump of Elvis Presley's hair expected to raise up to £9,000 at auction

A clump of Elvis Presley's hair is set to be auctioned, which is expected to raise up to £9,000 ($12,000).

The hair, which will go under the hammer on October 18 in Chicago, Illinois, was salvaged by a friend of Elvis' in 1958 after Presley enlisted in the U.S. Army.

Being sold as part of a collection of Elvis memorabilia, which includes signed records and clothing, the hair could raise more than the estimate considering back in 2002 a jar of the singer's hair sold for $115,000 (£72,000) at auction.

Meanwhile, Elvis' grandson Ben Presley has just signed a multi-album record deal with Universal.
