EMBRACE WRAP THEIR ARMS AROUND BIGGEST UK TOUR

[B]EMBRACE[/B] will clasp the good, good people of Britain to their collective bosom on their biggest tour yet in September...

EMBRACE, whose album 'The Good Will Out' hit Number One in its first week and is the UK's sixth-highest selling this week, have announced details of their biggest-ever UK tour set for September.

They play Glasgow Barrowlands (September 4), Middlesbrough Town Hall (5), Manchester Academy (6), Nottingham Rock City (8), Wolverhampton Civic Hall (9), Liverpool Royal Court (10), Doncaster Dome (12), Cardiff University (13), Southampton Guildhall (14), Norwich UEA (15), Folkestone Leas Cliffe Hall (17) and London Brixton Academy (18). Tickets are #9.50 except London where they are #10.50.

Embrace will release their new single, 'My Weakness Is None Of Your Business', on August 17. It is backed with two new songs, 'Feelings I Thought You Shared' and 'Don't Turn Your Back On Love'. A second CD features two songs - 'Higher Sights' and 'Retread' - recorded with a 60-piece orchestra at the band's Abbey Road sessions last year. They have been remixed by Youth and Hugo Nicholson.

Embrace narrowly escaped serious injury when a towing chain being used to pull their bogged bus free from mud at the recent Glastonbury Festival snapped and smashed through the windscreen, just missing the driver and the McNamara brothers. The accident happened as the band tried to leave the site following their performance on the Second Stage on Saturday, June 27.

Their bus became stuck in mud and after five hours of attempting to move it, site officials brought a tractor to pull the bus free. As the bus was being hauled free, the tow-chain snapped. Embrace's spokeswoman told NME: "It was pretty horrendous, they all just missed being decapitated. Once they eventually got off the site they had to crawl back to Huddersfield with a smashed windscreen. They were pretty pissed off."
