The BBC are said to be planning to fill Jessie J's place on The Voice with Paloma Faith, Rita Ora or Emeli Sande, reports The Mirror.

It was confirmed on Friday (July 5) that the Essex singer had left her position as mentor on the talent show, citing promotion for her forthcoming album as the reason behind the move. She had been a part of the programme since its beginning in 2012.

An insider told the tabloid: "Jessie will need to be replaced by another female, and it would be great to have someone young and current. Paloma Faith, Rita Ora and Emeli Sandé are right up their on our wishlist of talent."

Producers reportedly have admitted that it is "unrealistic" that their most-coveted replacement Adele will join the show. Sandé is currently the bookies’ favourite to take the vacant position at 3/1, whilst Ellie Goulding is an unlikely bet at 14/1.

Speaking about her departure from the programme, Jessie J said: "I've absolutely loved my time on The Voice and I hope everyone saw and knows how passionately I felt about the show. I shall be keeping a very close eye on series three showing my support in every way I can and really hope that in some way that I can be part of the show."

The Voice has already been commissioned for a third series by the BBC, although the show's other coaches - Sir Tom Jones, Danny O'Donoghue of The Script and will.i.am - remain unconfirmed to appear.
