Eminem has revealed he is to star in a new film.

'Have Gun Will Travel', a remake of the 50s TV show of the same name, will be set in contemporary Detroit and will feature the rapper in the lead role as a bounty hunter.

It is likely that the star will also feature on the soundtrack, though whether this will be as the main artist or as a guest has not yet been confirmed.

Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg told The Daily Variety: "When this became available we discussed it and brought it to Marshall and he was very intrigued and excited about the concept."

Produced by Interscope/Shady/Aftermath Films and co-produced by Rosenberg, the film is likely to be placed on Paramount Studios fast track.

While Eminem has featured in films 'The Hip Hop Witch' and 'The Wash', his only major role so far has been in 2002's '8 Mile'.
