Dizzee Rascal and Eminem hit the Number One spot

Both rappers score fastest selling records of the year

Dizzee Rascal and Eminem have scored the fastest selling Number One records of the year so far.

'Bonkers' shot straight to the top of the UK singles chart and 'Relapse' knocked Green Day's '21st Century' off the top of the album chart.

Rascal's single was confirmed as the fastest-selling single of the year so far ahead of the likes of Lily Allen and Lady Gaga after just four days' sales, according to the Official Charts Company.

His previous number one, 'Dance Wiv Me', spent four weeks at the top and won an NME Award.

Likewise Eminem's comeback album has jumped ahead of the likes of U2 and The Prodigy in the fastest selling album stakes.

Elsewhere in the album chart there were new entries for Manic Street Preachers who went in at three with 'Journal For Plague Lovers' and Madness who charted at five with 'The Liberty Of Norton Folgate'.

Jarvis Cocker also went in at 19 with his second solo album 'Further Complications'.
