Eminem had a close encounter with Bruno, star of comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's next film of the same name, during last night's MTV Movie Awards (May 31) at the Gibson Ampitheater in Universal City, Hollywood.

Dressed as a winged white dove, an in-character Baron Cohen was suspended from the venue’s ceiling during the ceremony, but was 'accidentally' lowered down into the crowd after a supposed malfunction with his wire.

He landed in the crowd with Eminem's face trapped between his spread legs. Watch video footage of the incident by clicking below.

After the incident took place Eminem walked out of the venue, accompanied by his bodyguards, though fans and viewers alike are suggesting that the rapper was in on the joke.

Eminem was in attendance at the ceremony to perform the songs 'We Made You' and 'Crack A Bottle' from his new album, 'Relapse'.

The big winner of the night was teen vampire flick 'Twilight', which scored five awards, including Best Movie, Best Fight and Best Kiss.

Miley Cyrus won the award for best song from a movie for her rendition of 'The Climb' from 'Hannah Montana: The Movie'.

'Bruno' is released in UK cinemas on July 10.
