EMINEM is reported to have cancelled two proposed signing sessions in the UK due to the fear of protests outside.

According to the Daily Star newspaper this morning (January 19), the rapper was in the process of finalising signing sessions at HMV stores in Manchester and London, to coincide with his UK tour early next month.

However, it is claimed that these have now been pulled due to fears that protesters, angry at the controversial rapper's lyrics, would demonstrate at the event. A source is quoted in the paper as saying: "He knows he has offended quite a few people with his songs and thought it was best not to do the signing."
A spokesperson for HMV in London told NME.COM this morning that the allegations were "totally unsubstantiated". He added: "There were initial discussions, but when we realised how big it would be, it just wasn't practical, that's all."

A spokesperson for Eminem agreed, adding that although signing sessions "had been proposed", nothing was ever confirmed.

Eminem's sold-out UK tour will call at:

Manchester Evening News Arena (February 8)
London Docklands Arena (9-10)
