The countdown is on - and now is your last chance to vote for in the annual NME CARLING AWARDS!

The ceremony, taking place in The Arches, Shoreditch, east London on February 6, is now in it's eighth year and as before reflects the music and artists the fans feel made a difference in 2000. All winners are chosen by readers of NME and NME.COM with voting forms found both in this week's paper, on sale in London today (January 30) and the rest of the UK tomorrow, and also by Clicking here.

A total of 16 awards will be handed out, including Best Band, Best Album, Best New Act and two awards sure to be amongst the most closely contested - Hero and Villain of the Year. Noel and Liam Gallagher face off with Eminem, Badly Drawn Boy and Thom Yorke for Hero Of The Year, while Liam shows up again against Robbie Williams, Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, Eminem and Big Brother's 'Nasty' Nick Bateman for the title of Villain Of The Year.
