Eminem's childhood home, made famous by its depiction on the sleeve of the rapper's 2000 album 'The Marshall Mathers LP', has been put up for auction in north east Detroit.

The house at 19946 Dresden, just south of 8 Mile, which is pictured in sepia tones on the artwork with Eminem sat outside on the steps, is currently vacant and will have a starting bid of $1, reports the Detroit Free Press. The property is one of many abandoned and burned-out houses in the neighborhood and is currently owned by the Michigan Land Bank – a government program that manages over 11,000 vacant properties in the Detroit area.

Eminem's new album 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' – the sequel to 'The Marshall Mathers LP' – is set for release on November 5. The record features production credits from the likes of Rick Rubin, Dr. Dre and DJ Premier, while recent tracks 'Bezerk' and 'Survival' are also set to be included.

The rapper recently took to ESPN’s Saturday Night Football Show, however, to talk about the forthcoming release and claimed that "nothing" excited him about the record. He then continued by saying, "I'll probably be most excited to just be done with it. It's called 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' and it's kind of a revisit to the first Marshall Mathers LP. That's pretty much all I can probably say about it."

The Detroit rapper was accused by fans of miming during his Reading & Leeds festival headline slots this summer. Festival organizer Melvin Benn, however, refuted the claims, saying: "There's some talk of [Eminem] miming? Fuck off. I have never heard such fucking nonsense in all my life.”
