Emmy The Great kicked off her UK tour last night (January 31) with a dedication to Elton John.

Playing at Oxford's O2 Academy with a four-piece backing band, the singer/songwriter performed a stirring 50-minute set, which featured fan favourites 'First Love', 'Gabriel' and 'The Hypnotist's Son'.

Set closer 'Two Steps Forward', meanwhile, was dedicated to the Rocket Man.

The singer/songwriter, whose debut album 'First Love' is released next week (February 9), was in a cheerful mood, talking at length to the packed crowd between songs and dedicating several songs to friends who were present at the gig.
