Enter Shikari announce new album release date Enter Shikari Tickets

Band set to get political on new effort

Enter Shikari are taking up the mantle of generational spokespeople on their new album, which they have announced will be released on June 15.

The rave punk band's second set 'Common Dreads' will be released through their own label Ambush Reality, and will be preceded by a single, 'Juggernauts', on June 1.

Explaining the title of the ambitious and political record, frontman Rou Reynolds said in a statement: "They're shared worries. The things that concern people today on a global level – catastrophic climate change, wars, terror laws, CCTV society, modern imperialism and the effects of capitalism.

"Politics are unavoidable. We can't write sappy music. Personally I can't write limp soulless songs about how lovely a girl is. If the first album was quite cryptic and metaphor-heavy, this one is more direct.

"Since we gained popularity we realised, whether we like it or not, we have the ability to influence people – and with that is a responsibility to speak our minds."

Recorded last year on the Isle Of Wight, the album was produced by Andy Gray, the former U2 and Korn producer who also composed the theme music to TV's 'Big Brother'.

The tracklisting of 'Common Dreads' will be:

'Common Dreads'
'Solidarity'
'Step Up'
'Juggernauts'
'Wall'
'Zzzonked'
'Havoc A'
'No Sleep Tonight'
'Gap In The Fence'
'Havoc B'
'Antwerpen'
'The Jester'
'Halcyon (Intro)'
'Hectic'
'Fanfare For The Conscious Man'
