Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck announce London O2 Arena gig
Former Yardbirds say it 'seemed natural' to hook up
Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck have announced a joint gig to take place at London's O2 Arena next February.
The duo, who played together in Japan earlier this year, will take to the stage at the O2 Arena on February 13 to each play a retrospective set, followed by a joint performance.
Speaking about the gig, Beck said the two "had a blast" playing together in Japan, while Clapton heaped praise on his friend.
"I've always considered Jeff Beck to be one of the finest guitar players around," he said. "He's a friend, a great guy, and a truly gifted musician. We had such a fun time in Japan that it seemed natural to play together again."
Although they never played together in The Yardbirds (Beck replaced Clapton in 1965), the two have remained close friends since the '60s.
Tickets for the O2 Arena gig go on sale on September 28. To check the availability of Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
