Erykah Badu Twitters birth of her daughter
Singer kept fans updated while she was in labour
Erykah Badu gave birth to a daughter yesterday (February 1) and gave regular updates throughout labour via her Twitter account.
Rapper Jay Electronica also updated the status of the labour from their Brooklyn home, as they waited for the midwife to arrive.
"Labor has begun. Everybody stand back. No hospitals. No doctors. No medicine. We're waiting for the midwife to show,” Electronica said.
The first-time father gave the updates between contractions and periods of rubbing Badu’s feet, says MTV News, and even updated the blog when the baby’s head started to show saying "I see the head, full of hair,"
Badu gave birth to a daughter at 1.30pm. It is the third child for the singer, who has two children with Outkast's Andre 3000 and The D.O.C.
Badu later updated her account with a message revealing she went through the five-hour birth without painkillers, adding “I can’t believe it’s over”
