The rock aristocracy line-up for nebulous good cause extravaganza...

The line-up for Net Aid - a simultaneous worldwide concert based in London, New York and Geneva - was announced yesterday.

U2, Wyclef Jean, Bush, Celine Dion, The Corrs, Robbie Williams, The Eurythmics, Jewel, Jimmy Page and George Michael are all confirmed so far to appear on the bill which will be web cast as it happens as well as being shown on BBC and MTV.

The Net Aid site will be up and running on September 8 to coincide with the release of the U2/Wyclef Jean single 'New Day'.

The aims of the concert are rather nebulous, raising money and awareness on issues ranging from the problems of Kosovo to what the organisers call the Five Pillars: Debt reduction, environmental issues, refugee relief, human rights and hunger.

Bono will be in charge of debt relief, Jewel gets the environment and Wyclef Jean refugees. Hunger and human rights haven't found celebrity sponsors yet.
