Explosions In The Sky cancel summer tour

The Austin instrumentalists face family illness

Explosions In The Sky cancel summer tour
Explosions In The Sky have canceled all of their spring and summer tour dates.

The Austin, Texas instrumentalists were set to embark on a UK and European tour beginning May 20 at All Tomorrow's Parties in Somerset and continuing throughout the spring and summer, with dates in London, Stockholm, Barcelona, and several other cities through July 29.

The band posted a message on their website, explaining that the cancellation was due to a "serious family illness."

The band wrote: "We have had to cancel all of our remaining summer shows (all shows scheduled for May, July, and August). We're facing a serious illness in one of our families and traveling around the world and playing shows is just not an option for us at the moment."

They continued: "We are truly sorry about this. We'll try and keep in touch about when any of these shows might be made up or when we might be touring again."

Explosions In The Sky intend to reschedule their tour dates for some time this fall.
