Faith No More warm-up for Download festival with London gig

Mike Patton and co return to the stage after 11-year hiatus

Faith No More kicked off their summer reunion tour last night (June 11) in London with a two-hour set, including both classic hits and more obscure material from the band's back catalogue.

The band played at the O2 Academy Brixton to warm-up ahead of their headlining appearence at the Download Festival this weekend (June 12), kicking off with a cover of Peaches And Herb' 1979 soul hit 'Reunited'.

Singer Mike Patton made extensive use of a megaphone and various vocal effects throughout the show, before telling the crowd: “We'd like to thank you, for coming to visit us again after 11 fucking years. It's good to be back!”

The band played two encores before ending on the final track of 1997’s 'Album Of The Year', 'Pristina'.

Faith No More played:

'Reunited'
'The Real Thing'
'From Out Of Nowhere'
'Land Of Sunshine'
'Caffeine'
'Evidence'
'Chinese Arithmetic'
'Surprise! You're Dead!'
'Easy'
'Last Cup Of Sorrow'
'Midlife Crisis'
'Cuckoo For Caca'
'The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies'
'RV'
'King For A Day'
'Malpractice'
'Jizzlobber'
'Be Aggressive'
'Epic'
'Mark Bowen'

By far not the best FNM concert I've seen (I've seen 6 or 7 including their "last and maybe best" concert in Lisbon , april 98). Their last encore wasnt what it was expected and the concert could have ended a lot better. Looks like FNM dont " care a lot" anymore and they should remain "ashes to ashes"

I was suprised they didn't play 'We Care A Lot' but I was more gutted they didn't play 'Digging The Grave'. War Pigs would have been cool too, but again - not so bothered. I've never been a fan of anything earlier than 'The Real Thing'. It was when Patton joined the band that they became the band I love today IMHO.I loved the show though. It might not live up to what they once were, but this was the first time I'd ever seen them so was blown away completely...

Bar playing every single song they've ever done, they're not going to make everyone happy, but right here, i'm as happy as larry. It was an amazing show and I'm overjoyed they're back.

I really enjoyed the show, it was so loud, first time at Brixton Academy so a great first show to see there! The only thing that let me down about the whole show was that i could have happily left after epic and would have been perfectly happy then, the encore's were a bit obscure and a bit of a letdown in comparison to what was a pretty great main show.
