Falco, the Austrian musician who had the massive electronic Europop smash hit in 1986 with 'Rock Me Amadeus', has been killed in a car crash while on holiday in the Dominican Republic. He was 40.

Falco died in hospital from head injuries suffered when the vehicle he was travelling in was involved in collision in the Dominican Republic resort of Puerta Plata on February 6.|

Born Johann Holzel, Falco was a gifted performer of classical music during his childhood who decided to make his career in pop music during the electro-friendly '80s. Besides the worldwide chart-topper '...Amadeus' he also scored a hit with 'Der Kommisar'.
