Fall Out Boy have confirmed they are to record more than a dozen songs for the follow up to 2005’s ’From Under The Cork Tree’.
Posting today (July 25) on the band’s website falloutboyrock.com under the name Peterabbit, bassist Pete Wentz announced that work had finally begun on the new album.
“We officially went into the studio today. We are going to be recording somewhere between 12 and 15 songs and should end up with about 12 or so on the new record,” he wrote.
“Yes, there are love songs. Yes, there are songs about the world around us (more than just stupid boys in bands singing about infamous girls), but there are a bunch of those songs as well.
“Expect to hear the first single this winter and the new record very early next year.”
One of the new tracks written is called ’Me and You’, which has an R&B influence.
As previously reported by NME.COM, the band who are working with producer Neal Avron on the songs, were delayed in starting recording sessions due to a staff shake-up at their label Island/Def Jam.
