Fatboy Slim Brighton beach party attracts thousands

Big Beach Boutique 4 takes place on the coast

Fatboy Slim's Big Beach Boutique 4 event took place on Saturday (September 27), attracting around 20,000 ticket-holding revellers to the bash on Madeira Drive, Brighton.

The first time the DJ played a gig on Brighton beach, in 2002, 250,000 people turned up despite facilities being provided for 60,000, prompting safety concerns.

This year tickets were mainly limited to locals, and capped at 20,000.

Beardyman, Danny Tanaglia and Layo And Bushwacka also performed at the bash.

"This is my last date of the whole summer season and that's good news for two reasons," Fatboy Slim told BBC News before the event. "A: I'll be very excited and celebrating and B: the show is pretty tight now. I think people are going to really enjoy it."

I'm glad that all got sorted out. I was at the last gig he did there and that was a shocking hell hole of a mess. No toilets, no food, no trians coming in or going out of Brighton, thousands and thousands of people stranded, freezing and turning blue from being in the sea, lost me mate, he lost his phone, 104 quid for a cab back to London and 2 CANS OF BEER!!! (and a fella who used to be in Grange Hill tried buying them off me) could have possibly been one of the worst night of my life. sshheesshhh.
