New bands confirmed for O2 Wireless festival

A whole host of up-and-coming bands have been confirmed for this year’s O2 Wireless festival.

The event has announced the arrival of the Myspace stage at the London Hyde Park leg which will feature new music including Les Incompetents, Lorraine and Louie.

The first day of the festival (June 21) will feature performances from Harrisons, The Sounds and Humanzi, while the following day (22) will see Jamie Morrison, The Weepies, Kill The Young and Amanda Ghost play.

Friday on the Myspace stage (23) will boast Blackbud, Just Jack, Grandad Bob, Les Incompetents and Alcarda with appearances from King Creosote, David Kitt, Catherine Feeney, TD Lind, Claire Toomey and Roddy Hart on the Saturday (24).

Closing out the event (25) on the new stage will be Lorraine, Danko Jones, The Bright Space, Suzerain, Dead Kids and Louie.

As previously reported on NME.COM, The Strokes, David Gray, Massive Attack, James Blunt and Depeche Mode will headline the London leg of the O2 Wireless Festival 2006.

In addition to the London shows, there will be a two-day spin-off event taking place in Leeds at Harewood House, with Massive Attack and The Who topping the bill between June 24-25.
