A new poster for Alien: Covenant was released last month, revealing the sequel’s May 2017 release date. Check it out here.

Michael Fassbender previously revealed that that Alien: Covenant will be “much scarier’ than its predecessor, Prometheus.

“This Alien is going to be… I’m very excited to see it and everybody in the film was saying this is a film that we all want to see,” he said.

“It’s much scarier than Prometheus, but it’s got the same sort of scope of Prometheus. It’s kind of got more of thriller, imminent disaster feel that Alien had, so it’s kind of a beautiful meeting of both of those films.”

Last year, Scott revealed that he had mapped out three Prometheus sequels which will ultimately bring the story to the start of his classic 1979 film Alien.

Meanwhile, a fifth Alien movie starring Sigourney Weaver is understood to be “on hold” because of Alien: Covenant.
