Actress says she's keen to reprise her role from 'The Dark Knight Rises'

Anne Hathaway has revealed that she would love to star in her own Catwoman movie.

The actress earned praise for her performance as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in this year’s The Dark Knight Rises, the final instalment in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Nolan has recently insisted that he is finished with the Batman saga, but Hathaway remains attached to her role.

When asked about a possible spin-off by Access Hollywood, Hathaway replied: “No one’s talked to me about it, [but] I would love it.”

Hathaway also admitted that thinking about her time as Selina Kyle makes her emotional. She added: “I was at a press Q&A thing the other night for a screening of The Dark Knight [Rises], and the moderator asked me, ‘So what was it like to say goodbye to the character?’ And I burst into tears, because I miss her. It just makes me cry. I miss her. I love Selena so much and I love her presence in my life and getting to… I’m crying again. So assuming there was enough Kleenex in the world, I would love to do a spin-off.”

The Dark Knight Rises was released on Blu-ray and digital download this Monday (December 3). Since opening in cinemas back in July (2012), the film has taken over $1.08 billion (£673 million) at the box office worldwide, making it Nolan’s most successful Batman movie and the seventh biggest film ever.

Meanwhile, Hathaway is being tipped for an Oscar nomination for her performance as Fantine in the big screen adaptation of Les Misérables. The film opens in UK cinemas on January 11 (2013) and you can watch the trailer below.
