At present, Hammer is best known for playing the Winklevoss twins in 'The Social Network'
Armie Hammer has signed on for Guy Ritchie’s new movie version of The Man From UNCLE.
The original The Man From UNCLE TV series starred Robert Vaughn and David McCallum as a pair of secret agents working for a fictitious international espionage agency called the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement (UNCLE). It ran for 105 episodes between 1964 and 1968.
The new movie version was originally conceived as a vehicle for George Clooney directed by Steven Soderbergh, but the actor dropped out in August 2011 because he was suffering from a recurring back injury and deemed the role too physical. Soderbergh later exited the project too and his seat in the director’s chair was taken by Ritchie.
Hammer, 26, is likely to become a much bigger name when his Disney Western The Lone Ranger opens in cinemas on August 9. Scroll down and click ‘play’ to watch the trailer, which also features Johnny Depp as Toto.
