Tim Burton's 'Dark Shadows' debuts at number two

Avengers Assemble has held onto the top spot at the UK box office for a third consecutive week.

Marvel’s superhero mash-up smashes all comers once more, taking over £4 million keeping American Pie: Reunion at Number Two for a second week. Tim Burton‘s Dark Shadows manages to debut at Three, taking almost £2.5 million on its opening weekend.

Other new entries within the Top 10 are horror sequel Piranha 3DD at eight and How I Spent My Summer Vacation at Nine, while The Hunger Games just hangs on inside the 10.
